WHAT’S THE MATTER WITH HAITI

I’ve been serving in Haiti for 14 years.  My 82 year old mother asked, “With all you say about your God and all of the missionaries that go to Haiti, why isn’t it any better along by now than it is?” I was stumped, the question made me drop my Bible (figuratively speaking) for I stand by the love and power of God in all that I do in Haiti. Finally I picked my Bible up off of the ground and said, “The failures of Haiti…it’s a MAN THANG, not a GOD THANG.”
OH HAITI, MY HAITI or WHATS THE MATTER WITH HAITI?
oh Haiti, my Haiti
why doth thou suffer
so
the God I serve is big
enough I know
to bring in His cattle
on a thousand hills
to over flow and spill
on the mountains
of Haiti, my Haiti
yet and still
alas it is not man’s will
for heaven and earth to meet
and make God’s love
for Haiti complete.
