DADDY, IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY (a poem for alzheimer’s)

meet me
at my shoreline
with memories
of love that
sift like sand
through my fingers.
meet me
at my shoreline
where waves of wonder
are lost
and forgotten
to be thought of,
where why
becomes when
and what
confuses who.
meet me
at my shoreline
where tomorrow
forgot yesterday’s
touches,
but
come what may
meet me
at my
shoreline.
Christmas 2012
(me and daddy aka daddy and I)
